SHAH ALAM, March 6 (Bernama) — Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has given the Klang Municipal Council two weeks to resolve the issue on the relocation of the old Klang bus station to the Klang Sentral bus terminal in Meru.

He said that if the issue was still not resolved by then, he and executive council member Ronnie Liu would have to intervene to solve the problem.

“Let’s give the council the opportunity to implement what they want to implement.

“If they cannot resolve the matter, then Liu and I will go down to see them to find a solution,” he said, addressing a group of North Klang businessmen who later handed him a memorandum asking the state government not to shut down the old bus station.

Last Wednesday, a group of 80 traders, taxi operators and car hire operators who were operating from the Klang Sentral, handed over a memorandum asking the government to retain the Klang Sentral as the hub for public transportation in the town.

The memorandum was submitted following talks that the state government would re-open the old bus station due to demands from bus companies and traders.
